Replacement Car Benefit Some policies also provide a replacement car if your vehicle is less than 12 months old and you are the first registered keeper. Therefore in a total loss, it is possible for you to receive a new replacement car.
Courtesy Car This is a useful feature with your car insurance policy, as in the event of an accident it provides a temporary replacement car, whilst yours is being repaired or replaced. The vehicle provided is usually a small 3 door, hatchback, however some companies for an additional cost can provide an enhanced courtesy car, which will be larger.
Having the use of a courtesy car on your insurance policy will increase your insurance premium, often by around 5%. If having cheap car insurance is a priority and you have access to other means of transport while your vehicle is being repaired, you should consider getting a car insurance quote without a courtesy car.
